Total coal consumption rose 15.0% to 9,189 kt in Kosovo in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, total coal consumption in Kosovo reached an all time high of 9,812 kt in 2010 and an all time low of 7,987 kt in 2014. When compared to Kosovo's main peers, total coal consumption in Albania amounted to 113 kt, 6,672 kt in Macedonia, 1,896 kt in Montenegro and 42,594 kt in Serbia in 2015.
Kosovo has been ranked 39th within the group of 126 countries we follow in terms of total coal consumption, 39 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
