Total primary coal production fell 1.72% to 1,026 kt in Bangladesh in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, total primary coal production in Bangladesh reached an all time high of 1,044 kt in 2014 and an all time low of 84.9 kt in 2005. When compared to Bangladesh's main peers, total primary coal production in Bhutan amounted to 94.0 kt, 4,376,984 kt in China, 643,720 kt in India and 777 kt in Myanmar in 2015.
