Waterway goods transported in million of tonnes rose 2.54% to 193 Mt in Belgium in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, waterway goods transported in million of tonnes in Belgium reached an all time high of 193 Mt in 2016 and an all time low of 89.5 Mt in 1992. When compared to Belgium's main peers, waterway goods transported in million of tonnes in France amounted to 65.2 Mt, 221 Mt in Germany, 6.04 Mt in Luxembourg and 365 Mt in Netherlands in 2016.
