Based on a comparison of 12 banks in China in 2018, China Construction Bank was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Agricultural Bank of China and Bank of China.
China Construction Bank's mortgage loans reached CNY 4,753,600 mil, up from CNY 4,213,100 mil compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of CNY 4,753,600 mil in 2018 and an all time low of CNY 869,075 mil in 2009.
At the end of 2018, mortgage loans represented 35.6% of China Construction Bank's loan book.
Comparing China Construction Bank with its closest peers, Agricultural Bank of China's mortgage loans amounted to CNY 3,661,900 mil at the end of 2018, Bank of China operated with CNY 3,503,600 mil mortgage loans and Postal Savings Bank of China had a mortgage loan book of CNY 1,417,900 mil at the end of 2018.
