Based on a comparison of 21 banks in Czechia in 1Q2017, Hypotecni Banka was the best capitalised bank, followed by Max banka and MONETA Money Bank.
Hypotecni Banka's capital adequacy ratio reached 34.1%, up from 33.5% when compared to the previous quarter and down from 39.0% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 56.4% in 2Q2008 and an all time low of 8.16% in 4Q2002.
When compared to the nearest peers, Max banka ended the year 1Q2017 with a capital adequacy ratio at 25.3%, MONETA Money Bank with 20.5% and CSOB Stavebni Sporitelna some 19.7% at the end of 1Q2017.
The average capital adequacy reached 18.1% in the Czech banking sector in 1Q2017.
