Based on a comparison of 17 banks in Czechia in 4Q2023, CSOB was the largest mortgage lender, followed by Ceska Sporitelna and Komercni Banka.
CSOB's mortgage loans reached CZK 519,818 mil, up 0.811% when compared to the previous quarter and up 2.46% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of CZK 519,818 mil in 4Q2023 and an all time low of CZK 39,100 mil in 4Q2005.
At the end of 4Q2023, mortgage loans represented 57.5% of CSOB's loan book.
When compared to the nearest peers, Ceska Sporitelna's mortgage loans amounted to CZK 419,576 mil at the end of 4Q2023, Komercni Banka operated with CZK 368,900 mil mortgage loans and UniCredit Bank Czecho-Slovakia had a mortgage loan book of CZK 163,208 mil at the end of 4Q2023.
Czech banking sector provided mortgage loans of CZK 1,742 bil in 4Q2023, up 4.17% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - CSOB accounted for 29.8% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 4Q2023. The top 3 companies hold a 51.0% share while the five largest firms some 51.0% in 4Q2023.
