Based on a comparison of 7 banks in Hungary in 2016, OTP Group was the largest mortgage lender, followed by OTP Bank Hungary and K&H Bank.

OTP Group's mortgage loans reached HUF 2,357,610 mil, up from HUF 2,333,340 mil compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of HUF 2,673,930 mil in 2012 and an all time low of HUF 2,043,340 mil in 2009.

At the end of 2016, mortgage loans represented 41.1% of OTP Group's loan book.

Comparing OTP Group with its closest peers, OTP Bank Hungary's mortgage loans amounted to HUF 1,274,870 mil at the end of 2016, K&H Bank operated with HUF 449,579 mil mortgage loans and Erste Bank Hungary had a mortgage loan book of HUF 414,831 mil at the end of 2016.

Hungarian banking sector provided mortgage loans of HUF 1,053 mil in 2016, up 8.39% when compared to the previous year. As a result, the top ranked company - OTP Group accounted for 224% of the sector’s mortgage loans in 2016. The top 3 companies hold a 388% share while the five largest firms some 457% in 2016.
