Based on a comparison of 26 banks in India in 2018, State Bank of India generated the largest revenues, followed by HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank.

State Bank of India reported total revenues of INR 1,755 bil, up 15.6% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of INR 1,755 bil in 2018 and an all time low of INR 186 bil in 2001. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to INR 1,460 bil.

Bank's total revenues accounted for 4.51% of total assets in 2018, up from 4.20% a year earlier.

Comparing State Bank of India with its closest peers, HDFC Bank generated total revenues of INR 704 bil, or 5.44% of assets in 2018, ICICI Bank operated with INR 526 bil total income, or 4.25% revenue margin and Axis Bank produced total income worth INR 364 bil, or 4.47% of assets.
