What Banks in Poland Generated the Most Revenues in 1Q2016?

Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 1Q2016, PKO BP generated the largest revenues, followed by Santander Bank Polska and Pekao.

PKO BP reported total revenues of PLN 2,935 mil, down 3.80% when compared to the previous quarter and up 4.99% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of PLN 3,302 mil in 2Q2014 and an all time low of PLN 1,368 mil in 3Q2004. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to PLN 2,987 mil.

Bank's total revenues accounted for 4.40% of total assets in 1Q2016, down from 4.36% a year earlier.

When compared to the nearest peers, Santander Bank Polska generated total revenues of PLN 1,939 mil, or 5.63% of assets in 1Q2016, Pekao operated with PLN 1,883 mil total income, or 4.72% revenue margin and mBank produced total income worth PLN 1,150 mil, or 3.73% of assets.

Polish banking sector generated total revenues of PLN 39,745 mil in 1Q2016, down 3.82% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 7.38% of the sector’s total income in 1Q2016. The top 3 companies held a 17.0% share while the five largest firms some 22.3% in 1Q2016.
