What Banks in Poland Had the Most Employees in 1Q2017?

Based on a comparison of 11 banks in Poland in 1Q2017, PKO BP had the most employees, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP employed 29,169 persons in 1Q2017, down 0.924% when compared to the previous quarter and up 0.517% when compared to the same period of last year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 35,386 persons in 4Q2004 and an all time low of 27,387 in 4Q2013.

Average cost reached CZK 8,399 per month per employee, 2.01% more than a year ago. This figure was CZK 4,033 per month some 10 years ago.

When compared to the nearest peers, Pekao had 17,626 employees with average cost of CZK 8,888 per person a month, Santander Bank Polska operated with 14,699 people (and CZK 8,681 per employee) and Alior Bank had 10,245 employees in 1Q2017 with CZK 10,245 cost per head.

Polish banking sector employed 41,514 people in 1Q2017. The average staff cost per employee reached CZK 74,015 per month.
