Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Poland in 2016, PKO BP was the largest lender, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP loans reached PLN 199,268 mil, up 7.14% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of PLN 199,268 mil in 2016 and an all time low of PLN 32,945 mil in 2002.

Comparing PKO BP with its closest peers, Pekao customer loans amounted to PLN 122,664 mil, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 103,069 mil loans and ING Bank Slaski had a loan portfolio of PLN 81,980 mil.

Polish banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 2,950 bil in 2016, up 6.04% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 6.75% of the sector’s loans in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 14.4% share while the five largest firms some 20.0% in 2016.
