Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Romania in 2017, Banca Transilvania generated the largest revenues, followed by Banca Commerciala Romana and BRD Groupe Societe Generale.
Banca Transilvania reported total revenues of RON 3,084 mil, down 3.19% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s revenues containing of interest, fee and other non-interest income reached an all time high of RON 3,186 mil in 2016 and an all time low of RON 19.1 mil in 1997. The average revenue in the last five years amounted to RON 2,693 mil.
Bank's total revenues accounted for 5.16% of total assets in 2017, down from 6.13% a year earlier.
Comparing Banca Transilvania with its closest peers, Banca Commerciala Romana generated total revenues of RON 2,888 mil, or 4.07% of assets in 2017, BRD Groupe Societe Generale operated with RON 2,754 mil total income, or 5.01% revenue margin and Raiffeisen Bank Romania produced total income worth RON 2,127 mil, or 5.78% of assets.
