Based on a comparison of 7 banks in Romania in 2017, BRD Groupe Societe Generale was the largest mortgage lender, followed by UniCredit Tiriac Bank and Raiffeisen Bank Romania.

BRD Groupe Societe Generale's mortgage loans reached RON 11,684 mil, up from RON 10,332 mil compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s mortgage loans reached an all time high of RON 11,684 mil in 2017 and an all time low of RON 3,297 mil in 2009.
