Based on a comparison of 10 banks in Slovenia in 2017, Gorenjska Banka operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by NKBM Group and Abanka Group.
Gorenjska Banka's loan to deposit ratio reached 63.5% at the end of 2017, down from 67.7% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 128% in 2008 and an all time low of 63.1% in 2015.
Comparing Gorenjska Banka with its closest peers, NKBM Group ended the year 2017 with loans to deposits at 65.0%, Abanka Group with 68.9% and Nova Ljubljanska banka some 70.8% of loans to deposits at the end of 2017.
Overall, total loans of the Slovenian banking sector amounted to 78.2% of deposits at the end of 2017.
