Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Turkey in 2016, Citibank Turkey operated with the lowest loan to deposit ratio, followed by Turkland Bank and Odea Bank.

Citibank Turkey's loan to deposit ratio reached 63.6% at the end of 2016, up from 61.8% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans to deposits hit an all time high of 72.8% in 2003 and an all time low of 32.9% in 2006.

Comparing Citibank Turkey with its closest peers, Turkland Bank ended the year 2016 with loans to deposits at 89.2%, Odea Bank with 90.4% and HSBC Bank Turkey some 93.5% of loans to deposits at the end of 2016.

Overall, total loans of the Turkish banking sector amounted to 129% of deposits at the end of 2016.
