Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Turkey in 2016, Ziraat Bank had the most employees, followed by Isbank and Garanti Bank.
Ziraat Bank employed 25,015 persons in 2016, down 2.65% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 25,697 persons in 2015 and an all time low of 20,373 in 2005.
Average cost reached TRY 7,618 per month per month per employee, 6.54% more than a year ago. This figure was TRY 2,977 per month some 10 years ago.
Comparing Ziraat Bank with its closest peers, Isbank had 25,000 employees with average cost of TRY 13,940 per month per person, Garanti Bank operated with 19,689 people (and TRY 12,196 per month per employee) and Yapi Kredi Bank had 19,419 employees in 2016 with cost TRY 19,419 per month per head.
Turkish banking sector employed 196,699 people in 2016. The average staff cost per employee reached TRY 2,694 per month.
