Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Turkey in 2017, Ziraat Bank was the largest lender, followed by Isbank and Garanti Bank.

Ziraat Bank loans reached TRY 298,258 mil, up 28.2% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s loans reached an all time high of TRY 298,258 mil in 2017 and an all time low of TRY 0.002 mil in 1961.

Comparing Ziraat Bank with its closest peers, Isbank customer loans amounted to TRY 274,682 mil, Garanti Bank operated with TRY 229,353 mil loans and Akbank had a loan portfolio of TRY 209,478 mil.

Turkish banking sector provided total customer loans of CZK 2,209 bil in 2017, up 20.6% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - Ziraat Bank accounted for 13.5% of the sector’s loans in 2017. The top 3 companies held a 36.3% share while the five largest firms some 55.1% in 2017.
