What Banks in Vietnam Were the Largest Deposit Takers in 2018?

Based on a comparison of 15 banks in Vietnam in 2018, BIDV was the largest deposit taker, followed by VietinBank and Vietcombank.

BIDV's customer deposits reached VND 1,000,550 bil, up from VND 922,223 bil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of VND 1,000,550 bil in 2018 and an all time low of VND 135,336 bil in 2007.

Comparing BIDV with its closest peers, VietinBank's deposits amounted to VND 839,867 bil at the end of 2018, Vietcombank operated with VND 801,930 bil of customer deposits and Sacombank had clients' deposits of VND 357,455 bil at the end of 2018.
