Based on a comparison of 16 countries in 2018, Belgium ranked the highest in chicory root production with 421,270 tonnes followed by France and Netherlands. On the other end of the scale was Slovakia with 24.0 tonnes, Qatar with 88.0 tonnes and Bosnia and Herzegovina with 105 tonnes.

Total chicory root production reached 597,819 tonnes in 2018 in the World according to Faostat. This is 17.6 % more than in the previous year and -13.4 % less than 10 years ago.
