Which Country Produces the Most Eggs?

Based on a comparison of 164 countries in 2022, China ranked the highest in egg production with 33,970 kt followed by India and USA. On the other end of the scale was Equatorial Guinea with 0.248 kt, Bahamas with 0.884 kt and Gambia with 0.892 kt.

Total egg production reached 93,171 kt in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.135 % less than in the previous year and 22.2 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total egg production reached an all time high of 93,408 kt in 2020 and an all time low of 15,109 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 3.03 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 36.5 % of egg production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 50.5 % share while the ten largest countries some 72.5 % in 2022.
