Which Country Produces the Most Molasses?

Based on a comparison of 122 countries in 2014, Brazil ranked the highest in molasses production with 14,800 kt followed by India and Thailand. On the other end of the scale was Djibouti with 0.003 kt, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 0.060 kt and Iraq with 0.400 kt.

Total molasses production reached 61,143 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.59 % less than in the previous year and 18.1 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total molasses production reached an all time high of 62,729 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 16,381 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 2.43 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, Brazil, accounted for 24.2 % of molasses production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 49.0 % share while the ten largest countries some 71.8 % in 2014.
