Which Country Produces the Most Pears?

Based on a comparison of 84 countries in 2018, China ranked the highest in pear production with 16,078 kt followed by USA and Italy. On the other end of the scale was Djibouti with 0.003 kt, Malta with 0.024 kt and Zimbabwe with 0.142 kt.

Total pear production reached 23,734 kt in 2018 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.483 % less than in the previous year and 10.9 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total pear production reached an all time high of 26,010 kt in 2014 and an all time low of 5,202 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 2.70 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 67.7 % of pear production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 73.8 % share while the ten largest countries some 86.1 % in 2018.
