Based on a comparison of 54 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in walnut production with 1,602,373 tonnes followed by USA and Iran. On the other end of the scale was Slovakia with 5.00 tonnes, Luxembourg with 26.0 tonnes and Cyprus with 105 tonnes.

Total walnut production reached 3,366,782 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.71 % less than in the previous year and 53.6 % more than 10 years ago.
