Based on a comparison of 11 firms among Apple Peers, Apple Inc. generated the highest earnings before interest cost, taxes and depreciation (so called EBITDA) in 2018 followed by Samsung Electronics and Microsoft Corporation.

Apple Inc. made EBITDA of USD 79,523 mil, up 7.21% compared to the previous year. Historically, the firm’s EBITDA reached an all time high of USD 82,791 mil in 2015 and an all time low of USD 1,822 mil in 2005. The average profit in the last five years amounted to USD 74,780 mil.

The company generated an average EBITDA margin of 32.5% for its shareholders in the last five years with a maximum of 35.2% and a minimum of 30.4%.

Comparing Apple Inc. with its closest peers, Samsung Electronics generated EBITDA of USD 77,596 mil with a EBITDA margin of 35.0% in 2018, Microsoft Corporation grossed USD 45,319 mil (EBITDA margin of 41.1%) and Alphabet announced a profit of USD 42,833 mil translating into a margin of 31.3%.
