Based on a comparison of 31 countries in 2015, Latvia ranked the highest in railway transport in tonne-km as a share of total inland freight transport with 56.3% followed by Switzerland and Austria. On the other end of the scale was Ireland with 1.00%, Greece with 1.50% and Luxembourg with 2.20%.
