Who Produces the Most Buses?

Based on a comparison of 22 countries in 2020, China ranked the highest in production of buses with 103 thousand followed by India and Brazil. On the other end of the scale was Serbia with 0 thousand, Portugal with 0.061 thousand and Belgium with 0.333 thousand.

Total production of buses reached 219 thousand in 2020 in the World according to ACEA. This is 58.2 % less than in the previous year and -78.8 % less than 10 years ago.

Historically, total production of buses reached an all time high of 703 thousand in 2008 and an all time low of 140 thousand in 1999. The average annual growth amounted to 2.18 % since 1960.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 47.1 % of production of buses in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 71.7 % share while the ten largest countries some 95.7 % in 2020.
