Historically, bank assets as a share of GDP in Botswana reached an all time high of 67.6 % in 2008 and an all time low of 7.24 % in 1989. When compared to Botswana's main peers, bank assets as a share of GDP in Namibia amounted to 71.5 % and 112 % in South Africa in 2017.
