Bank assets reached 2,628 EUR bil in 2017 in Italy, according to the National Central Bank. This is 2.79 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, bank assets in Italy reached an all time high of 2,849 EUR bil in 2012 and an all time low of 488 EUR bil in 1984. When compared to Italy's main peers, bank assets in Austria amounted to 819 EUR bil, 8,102 EUR bil in France, 37.9 EUR bil in Slovenia and 3,249 CHF bil in Switzerland in 2017.
