Bank credit card penetration reached 23.3% in 2012 in the European Union, according to the National Central Bank. This is 0.103% more than in the previous year.
Historically, bank credit card penetration in the European Union reached an all time high of 28.3% in 2008 and an all time low of 11.3% in 2000.
