Historically, bank loans as a share of bank deposits in Bulgaria reached an all time high of 149 % in 1992 and an all time low of 36.2 % in 1997. When compared to Bulgaria's main peers, bank loans as a share of bank deposits in Greece amounted to 147 %, 76.8 % in Romania, 128 % in Serbia and 122 % in Turkey in 2017.
