Buffalo meat production reached 338 tonnes in 2016 in Turkey, according to Faostat. This is 3.68 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, buffalo meat production in Turkey reached an all time high of 22,000 tonnes in 1963 and an all time low of 326 tonnes in 2015. When compared to Turkey's main peers, buffalo meat production in Bulgaria amounted to 169 tonnes, 217 tonnes in Greece, 3,204 tonnes in Iraq and 6,688 tonnes in Iran in 2016.
