Fertiliser consumption reached 153 kg in 2013 in European Union, according to Faostat. This is 4.04 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, fertiliser consumption in European Union reached an all time high of 174 kg in 2003 and an all time low of 125 kg in 2009. When compared to European Union's main peers, fertiliser consumption in China amounted to 364 kg, 257 kg in Japan, 15.2 kg in Russia and 132 kg in USA in 2013.
European Union has been ranked 57th within the group of 152 countries we follow in terms of fertiliser consumption, 21 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
