Historically, hop production in Portugal reached an all time high of 400 tonnes in 1973 and an all time low of 16.0 tonnes in 2013. When compared to Portugal's main peers, hop production in France amounted to 636 tonnes, 45.0 tonnes in Ireland and 809 tonnes in Spain in 2016.
