Insurance and financial services as a percentage of service exports from the balance of payment reached 9.66 % in 2018 in European Union, according to the National Central Bank / OECD. This is 1.96 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, insurance and financial services as a percentage of service exports from the balance of payment in European Union reached an all time high of 11.6 % in 2012 and an all time low of 2.88 % in 1980. When compared to European Union's main peers, insurance and financial services as a percentage of service exports from the balance of payment in China amounted to 3.54 %, 7.05 % in Japan, 2.84 % in Russia and 17.4 % in USA in 2018.
