Number of international tourist arrivals reached 1.36 mil in 2017 in Kenya, according to Eurostat. This is 7.57 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, number of international tourist arrivals in Kenya reached an all time high of 1.75 mil in 2011 and an all time low of 0.792 mil in 1998. When compared to Kenya's main peers, number of international tourist arrivals in Ethiopia amounted to 0.933 mil, 1.28 mil in Tanzania and 1.40 mil in Uganda in 2017.
Kenya has been ranked 105th within the group of 149 countries we follow in terms of number of international tourist arrivals, 31 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
The number of international tourists who travel to a country other than that in which they have their usual residence, but outside their usual environment, for a period not exceeding 12 months and whose main purpose in visiting is other than an activity remunerated from within the country visited.
