Number of international tourist arrivals reached 15.4 mil in 2017 in Portugal, according to Eurostat. This is 15.5 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, number of international tourist arrivals in Portugal reached an all time high of 15.4 mil in 2017 and an all time low of 4.57 mil in 1996. When compared to Portugal's main peers, number of international tourist arrivals in France amounted to 86.9 mil, 10.3 mil in Ireland, 11.3 mil in Morocco and 81.8 mil in Spain in 2017.
Portugal has been ranked 26th within the group of 149 countries we follow in terms of number of international tourist arrivals, 10 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
