Non-performing loans as a share of bank loans reached 7.43 % in 2018 in Montenegro, according to the National Central Bank. This is 11.2 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Montenegro reached an all time high of 30.0 % in 2007 and an all time low of 5.20 % in 2004. When compared to Montenegro's main peers, non-performing loans as a share of bank loans in Albania amounted to 11.1 %, 8.77 % in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 9.71 % in Croatia in 2018.
