Number of branches reached 1,627 branches in 2017 in Serbia, according to the National Central Bank. This is 5.35 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, number of branches in Serbia reached an all time high of 2,734 branches in 2008 and an all time low of 1,305 branches in 2004. When compared to Serbia's main peers, number of branches in Croatia amounted to 1,118 branches, 2,417 branches in Hungary and 4,596 branches in Romania in 2017.
Serbia has been ranked 18th within the group of 46 countries we follow in terms of number of branches, 24 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
