Number of branches reached 1,233 branches in 2017 in Slovakia, according to the National Central Bank. This is 4.64 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, number of branches in Slovakia reached an all time high of 1,293 branches in 2016 and an all time low of 928 branches in 1995. When compared to Slovakia's main peers, number of branches in Austria amounted to 3,765 branches, 1,863 branches in Czech Republic, 2,417 branches in Hungary and 13,855 branches in Poland in 2017.
