Number of new executive cars sold reached 93.5 thousand in 2016 in Spain, according to ACEA. This is 24.5 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, number of new executive cars sold in Spain reached an all time high of 199 thousand in 2007 and an all time low of 48.9 thousand in 2013. When compared to Spain's main peers, number of new executive cars sold in France amounted to 140 thousand, 117 thousand in Italy and 18.8 thousand in Portugal in 2016.
Spain has been ranked 7th within the group of 19 countries we follow in terms of number of new executive cars sold, 2 places behind the position seen 10 years ago.
The popularity of the executive car segment has been gradually declining in Europe over the last two decades.
