Based on a comparison of 62 countries in 2019, China ranked the highest in railways transport freight measured by mil tonne-km with 2,882,100 mil tonne-km followed by Russia and USA. On the other end of the scale was Albania with 39.9 mil tonne-km, Ireland with 101 mil tonne-km and Dem. Republic of the Congo with 188 mil tonne-km.
