Raw silk production reached 250 tonnes in 2014 in Japan, according to Faostat. This is the same as in the previous year.
Historically, raw silk production in Japan reached an all time high of 21,486 tonnes in 1969 and an all time low of 105 tonnes in 2007. When compared to Japan's main peers, raw silk production in China amounted to 126,000 tonnes and 3.00 tonnes in South Korea in 2014.
