Historically, raw silk production in South Korea reached an all time high of 5,545 tonnes in 1975 and an all time low of 3.00 tonnes in 2003. When compared to South Korea's main peers, raw silk production in China amounted to 126,000 tonnes, 400 tonnes in Dem. People's Republic of Korea, 250 tonnes in Japan and 6,761 tonnes in Vietnam in 2014.
