Sales of passenger cars reached 18.8 thousand in 2020 in Estonia, according to ACEA. This is 29.5 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Estonia reached an all time high of 53.2 thousand in 1993 and an all time low of 6.86 thousand in 1999. When compared to Estonia's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Finland amounted to 96.4 thousand, 13.9 thousand in Latvia and 40.2 thousand in Lithuania in 2020.
Estonia has been ranked 28th within the group of 31 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 61 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
