Sales of passenger cars reached 40.2 thousand in 2020 in Lithuania, according to ACEA. This is 13.4 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Lithuania reached an all time high of 46.5 thousand in 2019 and an all time low of 7.52 thousand in 2009. When compared to Lithuania's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Estonia amounted to 18.8 thousand and 13.9 thousand in Latvia in 2020.
Lithuania has been ranked 25th within the group of 31 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 71 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
