Sales of passenger cars reached 46.5 thousand in 2019 in Lithuania, according to ACEA. This is 43.5 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Lithuania reached an all time high of 46.5 thousand in 2019 and an all time low of 7.52 thousand in 2009. When compared to Lithuania's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Belarus amounted to 56.6 thousand, 26.6 thousand in Estonia, 18.2 thousand in Latvia and 1,568 thousand in Russia in 2019.
Lithuania has been ranked 67th within the group of 140 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 26 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
