Sales of passenger cars reached 53.7 thousand in 2020 in Slovenia, according to ACEA. This is 26.7 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of passenger cars in Slovenia reached an all time high of 81.9 thousand in 1999 and an all time low of 31.2 thousand in 1992. When compared to Slovenia's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Austria amounted to 249 thousand, 36.0 thousand in Croatia, 128 thousand in Hungary and 1,381 thousand in Italy in 2020.
Slovenia has been ranked 23rd within the group of 31 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 36 places above the position seen 10 years ago.
Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
