Sesame seed production reached 10,230 tonnes in 2022 in Sri Lanka, according to Faostat. This is 14.7% less than in the previous year.
Historically, sesame seed production in Sri Lanka reached an all time high of 16,950 tonnes in 2010 and an all time low of 3,817 tonnes in 1996.
