Small cars as a share of new cars sold reached 36.8 % in 2016 in Belgium, according to ACEA. This is 1.49 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, small cars as a share of new cars sold in Belgium reached an all time high of 41.3 % in 2010 and an all time low of 31.3 % in 2006. When compared to Belgium's main peers, small cars as a share of new cars sold in France amounted to 52.2 %, 28.5 % in Germany, 29.8 % in Luxembourg and 49.1 % in Netherlands in 2016.
Belgium has been ranked 10th within the group of 19 countries we follow in terms of small cars as a share of new cars sold.
