Small cars as a share of new cars sold reached 39.5 % in 2016 in United Kingdom, according to ACEA. This is 6.39 % less than in the previous year.

Historically, small cars as a share of new cars sold in United Kingdom reached an all time high of 42.8 % in 2014 and an all time low of 32.9 % in 2006. When compared to United Kingdom's main peers, small cars as a share of new cars sold in Belgium amounted to 36.8 %, 52.2 % in France, 28.5 % in Germany and 27.4 % in Ireland in 2016.
