Sugar beet production reached 3,653 kt in 2014 in Japan, according to Faostat. This is 6.33 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, sugar beet production in Japan reached an all time high of 4,656 kt in 2004 and an all time low of 1,136 kt in 1961. When compared to Japan's main peers, sugar beet production in China amounted to 11,100 kt, 46,350 kt in Russia and 29,084 kt in USA in 2014.
